Fox Tracks keeps track of your name, birthday, and running workouts so you can see how awesome you're doing! Only your family can see your progress. We never share your information with anyone else.
Who We Are
Fox Tracks is a family running app that helps children complete the Couch to 5K programme. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
What Information We Collect
From Adults (Account Holders)
- Email address — to create your account and send important updates
- Password — stored securely as a hash (we never see your actual password)
- Name — to identify you within your family
From Children
- Name — to identify their profile within your family
- Date of birth — to personalise their experience
- PIN — stored securely as a hash for login
- Workout progress — which workouts they've completed and when
How We Use Your Information
- Display progress through the running programme
- Calculate streaks and achievements
- Allow adults to review and approve completed workouts
- Send account-related emails (verification, password resets)
- Monitor for errors and performance issues (anonymised, no personal data)
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing to children, or any purpose other than running the Fox Tracks service.
Who Can See Your Information
Only adults within your family account can see children's information. We do not share, sell, or transfer your personal information to any third parties except:
- Cloudflare — our hosting provider, who process data to deliver the service
- Resend — our email provider, who send account-related emails on our behalf
- Sentry — our error monitoring service, who receive anonymised error reports and performance data to help us identify and fix issues (no personal information is included)
These providers only process data as necessary to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.
Parental Consent (COPPA Compliance)
Fox Tracks is designed for children to use under adult supervision. We require verifiable parental consent before collecting any information from children under 13.
When you create a child profile, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian and consent to Fox Tracks collecting their name, date of birth, and workout data as described in this policy.
Your Rights
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about your family
- Correct — update any incorrect information
- Delete — permanently delete your family account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent — remove a child's profile at any time
You can exercise these rights through your account settings or by contacting us.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If your account is inactive for 2 years, we may contact you before deleting it. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed immediately.
Data Security
We protect your information using industry-standard measures:
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
- Passwords and PINs are hashed using secure algorithms
- Access to data is restricted and logged
- We use Cloudflare's secure infrastructure
Cookies
We only use essential cookies required for the service to work (session authentication). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We use Sentry for error monitoring, which collects technical information (browser type, page URLs, error messages) but does not use cookies or collect personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
